Prognosis after liver transplantation in patients treated with anti- PD-1 immunotherapy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: case series

چکیده
Background: Programmed death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors and liver transplantation (LT) are alternative treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. The application of PD-1 HCC therapy increases T cell immune activity, while immunosuppression is required patients receiving transplantation. More clinical investigation to determine methods balance these treatment effects. In this article, we the first describe characteristics, imaging findings, outcomes 5 LT who had a history received anti-PD-1 therapy.

Liver transplantation for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma
There has been ongoing debate that the Milan criteria may be too strict that a significant number of patients who could benefit from liver transplantation (LT) might have been excluded. Based on this idea, various studies have been conducted to further expand the Milan criteria and give more HCC patients a chance of cure. In deceased donor LT (DDLT) setting, expansion of the criteria is relativ...
متن کاملLiver transplantation for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
BACKGROUND Liver transplantation (LT) has been advocated as a salvage treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Selection criteria still need to be developed in Taiwan. OBJECTIVES The purpose of our study was to assess the clinical findings and outcome of cirrhotic patients with HCC undergoing liver transplantation. METHODS Our study consisted of 13 HCC patients who underwe...
متن کاملThrombosis after liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma
The influence of thrombosis on the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after liver transplantation (LT) and the role of the commonest inherited thrombophilia abnormalities factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A in the development of thrombosis are unknown. We investigated a cohort of patients who underwent LT for HCC with the aim to estimate the incidence rate (IR) of thr...
متن کاملImaging, Diagnosis, Prognosis Changes in Tumor Density in Patients with Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated with Sunitinib
Purpose: Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) may underestimate the efficacy of targeted therapies. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) studies with sunitinib, RECIST-defined response rates are low, although hypodensity on computed tomography (CT) scans occurs more frequently. This exploratory analysis investigated tumor density as a surrogate endpoint of sunitinib activity in a ...
متن کاملDe novo Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Liver Transplantation
Liver transplantation is the definitive therapy for patients with advanced liver disease and its complications. Patients who are transplanted with a diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are at risk of recurrent cancer, and these patients are monitored on a regular basis for recurrence. In contrast, de novo HCC following liver transplantation is a very rare complication, and recipients wi...
